Gonna buy some gauges soon. Questions...1. Is there a standard size for a pod style guages? if not a preferred size? 2.Do all pod style have to be painted? 3. If someone built a pod style console that would replace the whole trim kit instead of one that mounts on the existing trim piece, had a space for a 6 position switch and available 3 or 4 gauge spaces and came stock interior trim color. Would you buy it? Thanks Tate

1) Gauge pods take a 2 1/16" gauge.
2) Pods need to be primed & painted
3) Yes!

2" or 2 1/16"... Everyone I have seen short of the wood and carbon fiber ones... I don't have an issue with the overlay, its cheaper and works fine. I have 3 LEDs in my A-pillar pod, for the water injection and low water light. There is room to mount the chip switch if you wanted with out any work...

If your thinking about building some, you would have to keep the cost similar to the existing one's or you wont sell much...

I just think a more seamless look would be cool. The gauges over you mirror are they mounted to the trim strip or are they part of the strip? I'm just brainstorming.Tate

since we are on the gauge subject... what type is better or does it matter other than price: mechanical or electronic gauges?

Also has anyone seen a pod pillar with a tweeter pod in it as well? i don't want to loose my high ends to the gauge piller and i have nightmares of a home made fiberglas project.

You wont find a seam on mine, the door weatherstrip covers it, but I am trying to recall the OBS, maybe they don't cover there??? The Top one tucks under the head liner. It attches with Velcro. The OBS guys could use this same pod with a little shaping of the radis where it hit the top. Ours is fabric, yours is a metal piece.

Its all good!!! Anything about gauges makes me happy:roflmao

The issue I have with Mech gauges is having hot oil and pressureized fuel in the cab. Its a small price to pay for not getting covered in something I dont want to...LOL

arrow - you can use a fuel pressure isolator to avoid having fuel in the cab. I have one set up. However, you and I have mechanical fuel pumps so if fuel pressure is what you want you might have to go electric. My guage bounces all over the place in such a manner it is completely useless. Tbar has a part I plan to add to my line to try and dampen the flutter but I do not yet know if it will cure it.

For that matter, an isolator will work on whatever kind of pressure gauge you might want, not just fuel.

Isspro sells a pressure snubber that will take the bounce out of your gauge, I use one on my manifold pressure...
