Pulled codes with the Diablo, and couldn't make heads or tails. Fuel pressure eg open. injector control pressure to low, cylinder 2 control/balance. So I took it to a local shop and they think it is the high oil pressure pump. said 300 psi when cranking and they said it should be around 900 and approx 1500 while running

Seems reasonable in one way, I've heard alot of talk about the injectors needing 500psi of pressure to fire, 300 is way low if that is the case. One thought though, I know this may seem silly, but you did check the oil level, both in the pan,and in the hpop's resevoir right? We all know these engines are called oil burners for a reason. FWIW

Never done it myself actually, but there is talk all over the place on here about a plug in the top of the resevior, allen head I believe. I'm sure someone will chime in and set us both straight. If the oil level in the pan gets too low,as I understand it, the pump can be "starved" for oil,and the resevoir will become low, thus causing the injectors not to work. Good luck! (Any decent repair manual should have the info in it, just don't have mine near me right now)

Hpop level

You can pull that plug that's on the top or you can take the oil temp sensor out of the top of the resovior and look into it. The inlet on the hpop is not that high inside the resovior and that shop is not correct, 300-400psi will start the engine and idle numbers can vary depending on the integrity of the injector o-rings and other oil system parts. You might have o-ring problems but i'm not looking directly at your truck so i dunno know for sure.

may sound like injector for cyl. 2 may be acting up....it could be dumping the oil(o-ring let go), which may cause the loss of oil psi....

what was the actual code number for that????
