A strange occurrence is happening the past few days once I start the truck. It starts fine but once I get to the main road (55 mph) I have no power. No matter how much pressure on the go pedal I put, it won't go over 15 mph. I pull off to the side of the road and turn on my high idle for a few minutes then the power returns. I do see a leak in the valley but have not traced it. You all know that I run WVO and both tanks are utilized by the stock fuel pump. I initially thought that the fuel pump might have gotten stuck because of the WVO's stickiness, but I haven't run on my front tank in days. This pump has about 70K on it. The problem only happens the first time I drive it on a given day. All follow up starts are fuel pump problem free.

Have you resolved the EBPV yet Richard? If so, can you get a guage on the schreader and let us know what you have for pressure. Assuming all is well with the fuel filter etc....

Have you checked your fuel filter? There have been reports of biodiesel gumming up fuel filters, particularly after converting over from regular diesel.:dunno

Mike, Not Yet. It's pouring rain today so the EBPV is on vacation. :laugh

TG, I changed the fuel filter last week but have not checked it since. In the past when running 100% #2 I'd use 15K change intervals, but with WVO 5K is stretching it.

Are you suggesting that it's stuck shut although morning temps are in the 40s?

BTW, checked my fuel filter and it's clean.

15 mph is pretty harsh for the EBPV, you should hear the air wooshing from it if it was closed that far.

Does power come back, then go away again after you run it at higher speeds like a fuel restriction? You could pull the fuel restriction sensor and replace it with a hose barb. Then stick a vacuum/boost combo gauge on that. Ordinarily you'd see 2-5 psi, but if it starts pulling a vacuum, either the filter or fuel lines are restricted, or you have a bad lift pump.
