Speed (wind resistance) works against good mpg. As what has been written before, if you drive around 1800 rpm, you will normally get your best mpg. 70-80 mph is not good for getting your best mpg.. 50-60 is. That is on level ground empty. most people would go nuts driving that slow, but not us old men. :D

:lmao

I don't know about anyone else, but the one time I got 21 mpg was when I drove at 50-55 mph for 100 miles. At 70 mph I get a steady 18.5 mpg. I drive like a old man, because I am an old man. Anyone getting 22 mpg at 75 mph, is doing way better than anyone I ever heard of.
I did have a guy tell me once that his friend who had a 18 wheeler big rig that got 30 plus mpg... I told him that he should not drink so much. :lmao

LOL,
I wonder what he was drinking:D

Now that diesel is over $4 per gallon, I wonder if it will hit $5 by summer.
Looks like my timing is not so great on this summers trip, but oh well, it least we have fuel to purchase.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter.
