Fuel Issues need help asap

To make a long story short I have a leak off a high pressure line from the back of the fuel filter/ canister sitting in the middle of the engine...the line is a hard line that has aprox. 1 inch hose that attaches to a small box with 4 screws holding this in....the line only leaks when I shut the engine down.... Tomorrow I will attempt to fix this. Does anyone have any idea why this could be leaking(bad o ring?) I need my truck by monday...anyone know how to dismantle it? is there a special way since its a High pressure line?

My brother just had one that was leaking from rubbing the gpr bracket. With it leaking it isn't under any pressure. (At least his wasn't).

Oh, its a 2000 7.3

If I'm understanding what you're describing... It sounds like the filter drain valve assembly. They do that.. the O rings degrade and leak.

Quik fix. Just buy a re-build kit from Ford, IH or a good local parts house.

If its the line that attaches to the fuel drian valve, there are 2 orings that seal it. Just did mine yesterday,take the 4 torx screws out and the valve will come off. Ford wanted $30 -$40 for an assortment of orings, I orderd mine from Pure Diesel Power for $17 and had them in about 3 days.

Here is the specification of the o rings you need. You can get them at Grainger, McMaster-Carr, or probably any hydraulic shop for pennies.

"O-Ring, Viton, AS568A Dash Number 202, Fractional Width 1/8 In, Actual Width 0.139 In, Black Color, Round Cross Section Shape, Inside Dia 1/4 In"
