I plan on removing each fuel injector and cleaning them, I've been having problems with cold starting and i've done everything with the glow plug system now i'm turning to fuel injectors.

My question is, when removing the injectors, and valve covers, is it really necessary to drain the coolant?

Any tips would be appreciated.

no, to my knowledge you dont need to drain coolant. i didnt on my 7.3.

you might also try hot shot's secret...great for repairing problems with 6.0 injectors...id do that before i go and pull all of them?

Rev-x has been said to work miracles on the 6.0 injectors. Said to be completly different than hot shots. Just what I have read, I have no experience with either.

If you are running a 15w40 switch to a 5w40 also Syn oil you can get at walmart for a good price. Add centane boost to your fuel i like the Ford stuff add at every fillup you can get Dieselklean at walmart also.
