fuel guage stuck ?

hi all ,,
So something new has come along,I fuel-up the rear tank and the guage only read half full ?? So i checked back in old treads i thought i had seen but with no luck, What do you think ?? thanks Dante59,, ( Richard ).

could be a bad sending unit or a disconnected wire on the
sending unit (connections are at the top of the tank).

sending unit on my 95 5.0L gasser went bad...wasnt an expensive
job to do...run the tank dry, drop the tank and replace the sending
unit....IIRC the sending unit/float was about 25 bucks.

somewhere out there are some photos showing how the wiper
wears the contacts (cheezy surface contact/solder on the pcboard)...
youll only get so many WIPES or SWIPES of the wiper across the
resistor before the solder is worn away.
