Now that I have my truck all back together, after about 2 months of not driving it. I hear some front end noise while driving, the sound follows the speed of the truck, it could be just road noise from the tires, but I don’t think so. From the way it sounds it may be the wheel bearings.

My question is, Does someone have a write up or how to that explains how to remove the hub assembly so I can check/replace the bearings. I’m going to jack up the front end tonight to see if it is indeed the wheel bearing, but with my luck lately, it is…

I am going to also replace the 4x4 factory locker hubs with Warn ones when I do it.
BTW, the truck has 155,000 miles on it now.

Thanks ya'll

Don,

Sorry to keep being a pest, but I've called the local Ford stealership, talked to parts and they couldn't help me with it. Said they would need the vin number to find the correct part. I was talking to the order taker, so I think they were just putting me off.
Is there a aftermarket place for these, or do I have to drive the truck to Ford and show them what I need?

Thanks again!:thanks

Are refering to the hubs or the wheel bearings? Either you should be able to get cheaper aftermarket, tho I haven't done much four wheeling in the last decade, so I'll leave source referals to others with recent experience. Go through the sponsers sites too, and see whats available.

Alot of dealers want the VIN now whether they need it or not. Just helps them cut down on returns for wrong parts. Also the way the databases are set up only really knowledgable parts guys can find parts without a VIN. Seems to me they don't have a very good point and zoom breakdown like microfiche used to have.

On my truck the vin told them which revision the hubs were and if they had 4wheel ABS.

I had a slight hum or vibration in mine last year.Mine was from front axel shaft u-joints.that was 130,000 miles on the truck. Also the balljoints were shot. The wheel bearings were in good shape just a little dry.
