Hi all, I'm kinda new at this 4x4 thing so bear with me. I'm in the process of doing the front brakes and greasing the hub bearings. Well brakes are going fine. But after removing the hub assembly, the part with the needle bearings in it that I'm going to regrease. I noticed the seal that goes into the axle past the U-joints is flopping around. I can also move the axle around about a 1/2" or so where it goes into the axle housing. Should I be able to move it? The U-joints seem to be fine along with the ball joints. Any thoughts, suggestions should these seals be replaced while I'm in there? Thanks edsaws

sorry, your hubs are NON SERVICEABLE!

Its the weakest link on the superduty front end, the "unit bearing" front hub assembly.

You cannot grease, or change the bearings, you have to replace the entire hub assembly (about 300 bucks).

Dynatrac sells a conversion kit to replace the front hubs, but its 1500 bucks.

Guess what, I just smoked a wheel bearing tonight, so I will be looking into doing the conversion on mine. :( :( :(
