My right front rotor is toast. I have the caliper off but the rotor apears to be part of the hub,(the lugbolts are mounted on the hub in front of the rotor). These are auto-hubs. Do I disassemble the hub to get at the rotor?
Do I just unbolt the 4 bolts on the inside that face toward the engine and pull it all out as one piece? Help!:dunno

i dont think so. Mine, the rotor just goes on. I have a 99 dually. The rotor slides on then the dually spacer bolts on to it. In your case, I think the rotor should just come off.
Could it judt be frozen on there? Try a pieceof wood and a hammer? I am sure someone will chime in but it should just slide off the lug studs. The 4 bolts in the rear are for the wheel bearing assembly(on a 4wd)
MY mistake, atk seems to have it.
WOW, that sounds like my neighbors 99 2500 suburban. Not all that hard but a bit tougher. This is why this site is so cool. Lots of info here.

you will have to remove the auto hub assembly. once there you will have to remove 1 or two nuts that will require a special socket. once they are removed, your hub/rotor assembly will come off. next you will have to remove the wheel studs to seperate the rotor from the hub. to install new rotor reverse procedure. make sure all the rust is removed on the mating surfaces. also can apply a thin layer of grease to prevent future rust build up....hope this helps

ATK has it right, pull the hub apart then the lug studs hold the rotors to the hub and then you're ready to go, a brass hammer or drift works great for getting the studs out without damaging the threads.

Thanks, I figured it out after I went home and read/printed it from my manual on the computer. Didn't have the special hub/bearing socket so I used an awl and mallet. The auto-locking hubs are so quiet now that I wasn't sure if I did the hubs right until this last weekend when I buried 'er to the axles at the Plaster City race. I aired down to 30 psi from 70 and walked out so it works. :sly
