just last weekend i swaped the front d50 (F250) axel for a d60 (F350). The ball joints were going and i thought what the hell its bigger!! Apparently they also tell me that im hard on stuff so upgrading is in my best interest.

my question.. Is the front driveshaft on a F350 shorter that a F250?? i dont have much play in the slip yoke ( about 1 to 1.5") to full compression.

yes the pinion is longer on the D60 resulting in a shorter driveshaft. If memory serves me right the pinion difference is around 1 3/4"

ok right after i posted the internet died on me. figures.. the rubber boot on the driveshaft slip yoke is pretty squashed. I did measure both axels and the d50 is 13 inches from diff cover to the back of the yoke. the d60 is 14 inches (about) so yea i guess when i get some time im gunna take it to be cut down.

to my knowledge all sd f250s have the d50 up front but i could be wrong. someone else is sure to know..
