Some days it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed –

Had a doctor’s appt. for an echocardiogram and an electrocardiogram. Forget to reset the alarm for a later time so I hit the snooze button. Snoozed really well – late for appt. Had not been to the doctor’s second office before – could not find the address on the card. Called office – they moved – now even later.

Get there and because I’m late – they took the people before me. Wait for an hour.

Leave doctors office and hit the interstate. Doing about 70/75 and hear loud double bang. Everything seems okay – motor still running with no lack of power. Wiggle the wheel – all systems seem okay. Drive for another 7 miles, take ramp, hit three lights green – fourth light have to stop . . . right rear sinks down. Flat tire.

Can’t get rim off of truck. Don’t want to beat and bang on a King Ranch rim. 30 minutes later I finally get it loose. Notice two things – one is a big ole dent in my Silverline exhaust tip. Two – spare tire is marked as a temp tire. Who had this bright idea for an F350.

Get home and back up truck in the driveway. Notice water is pouring out of the water meter cover. Call Water Company – waiting for them to show up.

Boss calls – main office computer will not come on – wants to know where the “little” wires go on the motherboard.

Daughter calls – needs $450 for books for this semester (college). Also needs contact re-fill - $200.

Pictures from my camera phone -

It’s not even one o’clock yet –

Nope - it didn't look like that when I left the house. Had to drive on it for about a half mile or so until I could find a place to pull into to change it.

Found a three inch split in the middle of the tire so looks like I ran over something. Never saw anything so it could not have been very big. Big enough though to dent the exhaust tip.

Water company just got done replacing the meter/valve. Told the boss I wasn't coming the rest of the day . . . and that he needs to buy me some new tires :thumbs

Going to hit the couch with an Ashton VSG - some JD and watch a cheap T&A movie for the rest of the day.

I feel for ya, but got you beat. Friday cost me over $110,000.

My driver that was delivering an oversized load hit an unmarked bridge, destroyed crate but the load was untouched. - $11,000 for new crate.

Got to the port, crane operator swung chains into the side of my Pete. Driver side door and saddle tank destroyed. - $2,000

While load was being lifted, it was dropped onto the side of my 150 ton lowboy. Bent frame so bad, the right side was dragging on ground. -
$90,000 Totaled trailer.

My driver just called me from Phoenix, says the Autoshift tranny won't go into high range. Pete shop says $5,000 to fix.

Thinking it was a good idea to buy out a trucking company: Priceless

P.S. Thank God for good insurance!!
