It sounds like a good theory to me. LOL. Does the opening have to be as large as you made yours? I was thinking of just using a single downspout rather than piecing 2 together (if you don't mind me copying your idea, of course).

I had already done the drilling and after a few years I got tired of just having a big hole. So I dreamed up this idea on how to "dress" it up a bit. I had to use two down spouts to cover the hole I already had.

Stroke, that thinga-ma-jig that cuts the hole is called a HOLE SAW.

The main reason that I used the downspout was to more or less help the air get directed to the snorkel opening instead of maybe getting "lost" around the zoodad opening. Now of course, this is merely "Theory of Bama" and maybe hold no truth whatsoever.

lol... hey a hole saw makes since ..... yeah I like your idea a lot and if I had the time to sit down and get r done I prolly would have but no that im moved away from home... my "shop" time at home is limited so I fabbed up the screen thing..... believe me yours looks much better


AK... the screen flows plenty of air if that is the route you wanna take.. however if you have the time the downspout is prolly a better option since it directs the air into the intake horn (I removed my intake horn)..... and I have found it easier to remove the grill (I wish it was like the 99-04 they were EASY) by removing the screws up top... then bending the grill back just enough to take a LONG screw driver (about a foot or so long) and wedging it between the clips along the bottom of the grill then pressing down just enough to get the clip to give from its hold position... do that with all the clips and she'll come right out
