Is it ok to shim the stock fuel sytem? Does it have enough power to pump that fuel? Also, if you ca, how do you turn up the air-fuel mix on these trucks?

A diesel engine runs on a constant air volumn per rpm; that is you get the same amount of air per revolution and it does not change like on a gas engine. What you do is increase the fuel per revolution with a chip, or programmer. With mechanical fuel injection you would turn up the injector pump and that does the same thing. These trucks are NOT mechanical injected. You will need a chip or a tuner.

Yes, the FPR is part of the fuel filter assy, you are looking to take out the brass bolt on the drivers side. Careful as there is a spring in there.
