member mine went on me november of 2005, on my way to work, quit on me after leaving a traffic light, didnt know what happened, strongarmed it onto a side street and got it runnin again, turned around to head back to highway and it died again and that was it, had it towed to my shop and the stealership sent a cps down for 125 bucks, lol...that sucked:watchout

I have gone through 2 of them so far.... Now I have a new one in the
back and will be the next to go in.... Had the exact symptoms as
above, but when I got it started after the stall I just pulled into
a parking lot. One it cooled a little I installed my spare.

I have a 2001 F-350 and have already had my CPS replaced at the dealership. But now when I start my truck it runs real rough and then shuts off, once you get it started again if i can keep my RPMs up and let it run for about 5 minuets it runs great and it only does this the first time you drive it for that day. The rest of the day i dont have any problems. Could this be related?

First off....... WELCOME TO SDD ;tu

Secondly, What you describe sounds more like a HPOP oil level issue,.after yer engine has been shut down for awhile, i.e., air in the HPOP system, which Could cause the rough running.... until the HPOP re-primes (keeping the RPMs up) with oil, purging the air out. Then it runs fine for the rest of the day (?).

I think my CPS went out? The truck has been shutting off the past few weeks, went to start it and took like 20 seconds of cranking and it ran again, drove it for 3 mins and it died, even went thru a starter cranking. Installed the new starter and truck started after 45 seconds of cranking then it died 5 mins later, now it wont start, replaced fuel filter, starter. I called a local dealer and they want to charge me $135.00 min to check my truck and I have pay a tow truck to get it there. Are tows covered by the recall? any info would be great...thanks 99 f250 223k miles
