We all know what are trucks are capable of and we all take the time to take care of our trucks. Most of us practically live in our trucks and if we treat them right, they treat us right back. Like a family member to us. I'd rather dump money in my current truck than get a newer one since new ones have all that epa crap. Luckily ks doesnt check any epa stuff hehe. Let the smoke roll!!!:D:sweet

Dogman:

I would prefer not to have any CAT or DPF system if I could do so legally. Utah is strick and the cops have started pulling over smoking trucks and they do emissions testing every two years.

One thing that needs factored into the 6.8L motors is the cost of adding Urea every 5000 miles or so. I don't know all the workings of the new exhaust but what happens if the Urea tank runs dry?

I'm so happy with my 6.4 that I can live with a little less mpg. I could have gotten a 6.8L but chose the 6.4 becuase of it's good track record and because Ford made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

No regrets.

If the truck is dialed in right it should not smoke at all. I know it took me about 3 weeks to get the 6.0 dialed when I got it but after that it did not smoke at all. The MPG was really good too. I was getting about 16 to 18 city and hwy was around 20 to 23 mpg. Are dealer here can test emissions and they tested my old truck and it pass with no cat.

Out here you are required to have the CAT to pass smog. And they get under the truck and look carefully.

We have not gotten to that point here but I know it's coming. They keep talking about it.

That is why I never speak of tossing out the CAT. Just keep is in a safe place for that day when you NEED it. :)

Speaking of NEEDING one.. My 2K, bought new in March of 2K, is a Non-Catylist 7.3. Ford/EPA sticker under the hood and everything.

I havent gotten notification [Yet].. to get it Smoged, but when I do... It could be very interesting.. These Cali Smog folks.. seem to have alota juice to creat Hoops.. if they're not sure, or are un-familure with stuff.
