Fog lights without the head lights

Hey all I have a 2001 F250 and the fog lights wont come on unless the head lights are on I know its been posted that you can take apart and drummel out the switch wich I have done. Next your supose to jump 2 wires Im not sure what 2 wires to jump together anyone have any clue?. And then I was wondering if anyone knows if a later year switch will work in a 2001 I believe 2004 is when they started making the fog lights work without the head lights.

I can turn on the driving lights without turning on the headlights in my 02. I have to have the marker lights on, but the switch will pull out without the headlights on.

02 is when they changed it so you can run them without the head lights. Just cut the wires to your fog lights and wire them into your running lights. Done and done!

will the swithc from an 02 fit in an 01 ?

Thank you for the replies. I cut out the back of the switch and jumped the 2 wires it was actually pretty easy once I was told what wires to splice. One thing make sure to use a drummel for a neat job. I did it with a drill bit because I really didnt know what I was doing at first. But with it back into the dash knowone can see the wreckage I did on it. lol But it does work
