I just came back from my favorite Chinese restaurant and after eating spoke to the manager. He was more than happy to help me out. Now all said and done, went to look at his oil, something I should of done first...
The oil looked clear and dark, Great I thought!!!
But as I looked further, there was these hot peppers floating in the oil, the kind of peppers that you see at Pizza Hut to shake on your pizza.

Now, other than the peppers, this oil is primo stuff, I hate to not get it, but then again I don't want to "burn up" my engine..

Anybody have any experience with this type of issue?
Anybody have any thoughts as to the usability of this oil?

Thanks !

Red hot pepper flakes? Nope, but I've had a couple of interesting things in my oil too. One cubie had vinegar in it with the oil. It was like someone had dumped a crucible of oil, vinegar, herbs and spices. The cubie contaminated a 55 gal drum, but after settling it out I used the oil w/o a problem.

My steel drums come from an oilive oil retailer who bottles various oil infused herb blends from drums. He gives me his empties. One batch of empty steel drums I got from him had garlic infused olive oil. Even after refilling the drums with 1 micron filtered wvo, the tank still smelled of strong garlic. :D No problem.

Are you talking about looking at his grease trap? I hate chinese traps some of the nastiest (is that a word?) things on this earth. Being in the sewer cleaning business I see alot of grease from resturants. I would rather go in a septic tank than a grease trap they are that bad.

Back to the topic that grease would be very nice since you can get alot of it from all the crap they cook there.
