Flexplate replacement? Yes/No

Was able to view the flex-plate and I am not sure if I need to replace or not.

Some of the teeth look to be worn half way while some have almost no wear. View attachment 11843.

Do I replace it or should it be good for another 100,000+?

The flywheel is to the right of each rectangle?? It is hard to tell what you are trying to present.

If you find damaged teeth, you should replace it. Better to do it before the starter makes some funky sounds.

Each rectangle is a tooth. Each representing the worst and best teeth I saw on the plate. I assume that the wear areas are where the starter engages the plate.

Sorry, looking back I se it is a bit confusing.

looks like the "worst" are slightly more than 1/2 worn in that case I'd replace at least the ring gear. Now I'm sitting here trying to remember if the ring gear is removable on these flywheels. Well if you see that it's a pressed on fit then you can replace them. cut the old one off and heat the new one to around 500 in the oven with the flex plate in the freezer it should just slide on. If the ring gear isn't replaceable then spring for the flex plate and save yourself some hassle down the road.

Now is also a great time to do the rear main seal.

If yer in there.. and see anything that doesn't seem right.. In the Long Run.. yer FAR better off to just Replace it.
