whats funny is it was a XLT Lariat, loaded with every option for the 92 MY, tape deck, capt chairs 4.10 gears
...drove for 10.5 years. wife bought it new for me while i was on deployment...she tricked me to go look at new trucks when i came home
OBS is imo fantastic, the supercab long bed 4x4,s screamed for huge tires
14 mpg empty
worst thing i ever did to it was installing a banks sidewinder turbo, power was great. but the truck was never the same.

Reminds me of my 91 DRW.. went with an ATS.. turned up the pump.. 4" Ex.. Good Power.. but

want a laugh about reliability
120,000 ish miles
one injection pump (when they switched over to low sulphur fuel)
one fuse link for glow plugs
one driver door light switch
one a/c condensor (my fault)
one set of new injectors because i got worried at 100k miles
and ONE set of front brakes at around 85,000 miles
it was a pretty darn good truck.
I think the banks set up really tasked the engine, i already had the inj pump turned up a bit. it developed a HARSH 1-2 shift and i never liked the way the exhuast would settle and periodically rub the body for an ear throbbing noise
I agree Robert.. Darn good truck.. but the ATS asked a bit more than the engine wanted to give up. 4:10's but with an 11' Lance on.. and the boat it tow.. had to put a Gear-Vendor on it.. and drive it in 4th under..
Sold it with 200+K on it, multiple Alternators (usta carry a spare Alt), 1 set of GP's, 2 fuel (mech) pumps, 2 Vac (mech) pumps. OEM brakes & clutch though.
Often thought an Inter-Cooler would have done the trick, but the 2K is doing the deed Very, Very Well theze dayz... @ the cost of a new DRW.. here in Caly anywayz.
