I use Synthetic oil in my 2012 and have not had one issue. I plan on using it in my new 2015. I can go longer between oil changes that is good at 149.00 a pop every 3,000 can get spendy. I get 13 to 14 pulling my 5th wheel and boat. not pulling I have gotten 23 to 25 on flats in the hills and city I don't even look. These big diesel's are made to run at 75 all the time they run more efficient at them speeds.

Just bought a 2015 crew cab short box 4 X 4 and it has the 20" wheels. It only has 400 miles on it and on it's first unloaded trip at 70 mph I ended up getting 17 mpg. I'll see as time goes on what it will get.

You will get more than that after it is broke in. Diesels take a lot of miles to break in. Your mileage will improve until you have about 15,000 miles.

Don't tow anything till you have over 1,000 miles you will get better mileage as you break it in. Remember don't go constant speeds for long periods of time. Break in is important on a diesel so when you have 300,000 you don't have any oil leaks!

My 2012 gets 23 miles to the gal unloaded 13 when loaded with the camper and boat attached

My 2015 only has a 1,000 miles on it so haven't even looked at the mileage.
Hauled my 5 the wheel for about 75 miles today just to break the diesel in more!!!!
