Well its time to bid Hawaii adeu. No more submarines for this guy. Time to go tell students how "great" it is.:sly No more sitting in front of panels similar to this one, by myself, for six hours at a time during hours like midnight to six in the morning.

(In case anyone is wondering, this is and unclass picture. Its the maneuvering room of an old, decommisiond submarine. Reactor plant control panel in the middle, (where I sat) electric plant control panel to the right and the steam plant control panel with throttles on the left. They came from the USS Sand Lance.)

Good bye USS Key West. Bring em home safe.

Thank you for your service to our country, I appreciate it.

Personal question: Is it true that nuke submariners glow in the dark or is that just an awful urban legend?

Sorry to dissapoint but we don't glow in the dark. I was a little dissapointed myself when I didn't start glowing.:( There isn't a boost gauge on it but there is a form of EGT and if you thought one transmission temperature sensor was enough, try about 50+. I'm not kidding.

I'll be visiting family and messing around for most of February then its off to Charleston. I'll try to make it to the rally in May but I don't know how my schedule is going to work out.

Well thanks for the support you guys. Future advice is all I may ask in return. Got big plans for the PSD and I'm sure I'll mess something up a time or two.
