My truck is in the shop getting o-rings replace on all the injectors, valve cover gaskets and injector harnesses. I was planning on getting the tranny rebuilt in the fall but decided to bite the bullet now since it was going to be in the shop anyway. Here is what shes getting

Suncoast extreme duty master rebuild kit
Suncoast Dual load center support
Suncoast Billet input shaft
Suncoast oversizes transmission cooler kit
Suncoast cooler bypass eliminator
BD Diesel TorqForce torque converter
BD Diesel deep sump trans pan
John Woods Vaulve body

I get her back on friday if all goes as planned. I cant wait!! I have had a sloppy tranmission for about a year and a half. I could not even give it half throttle from a stop with out slippin.(NO FUN) Now I have to wait to get my chip retuned. Watch out little ricers the import eater is a comin!!!!:D

Oh! A quick question for you guys how much torque/hp can I safely make with this set up?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the torque converter as I suspect that will be your limiting piece. If the TC is reasonably good you will have no problem with 800 tq & 500 hp

Why the mix of pieces & parts from various vendors and not just get all Suncoast pieces or a whole trans from one of the competent builders?

Well the biggest reason is money. I had the John woods Valve body and was going to put in before I decided to just build a new trans. The BD Diesel torque converter is $860 v/s $1295 for the Suncoast. I wasnt planning on building the trans until the fall with more money on hand but, I had to do it now with the cash I have.

I think it is a good converter.
BD TorqForce converters feature a stamp forged steel cover that is actually stronger than steel billet, up to triple the clutch material, furnace brazed fins and our own billet aluminum stator design that maximizes the low-speed torque characteristics of the Cummins engine. On the street, you’ll notice that stall speed is reduced significantly, resulting in more positive engagement in drive, enhanced low-speed drivability and better fuel economy. If you drag race or sled pull, you’ll appreciate that the TorqForce is designed to handle up to 1,400 lb.-ft of torque in an 11-second truck. And if you tow a heavy trailer, check this out: The TorqForce has been tested to 850 lb.-ft of torque, towing a 26,000 lb. load up a six-percent grade! ;tu

makes good sense/cents :D

That converter based on specs will hold what you have now and should not have a problem with your eventual HP goal, your PMRs should have a problem before the transmission

Yeah I know. Im not adding anymore HP until I can get a built engine or upgrade to forged parts. I have found Wipe Out Enterprises and they have several options for BIG bucks. The cheapest is $9800. Im not sure which direction I should go, buy the parts and have someone install or buy from Wipe Out and have it dropped in. $9800 is alot of $ then I have to get it installed. Its probably alot cheaper to buy parts and have it built.:dunno

Speed cost money, how fast do you want to go???

Dave

Real Fast! Doesnt everyone? I just dont want to kill the old girl before I can rebuild her. I would love a list of some kind as to what ill need to build reliable, daily drivable 600 horses.

Still acting up after return from dealer.

:stir You got all the o-rings replaced on the injectors, valve cover gaskets which are the wiring harnesses and a reflash along with the transmission rebuild. I have seen more than once the High Pressure Oil Pumps go bad after the injector o-rings were replaced, the pump gets used to very high tolerances between the oil rings in the cylinder head. But your mods has a new H.P.O.P from Adrenaline? I didn't even know they made them. Hope this can help considering you got an I.C.P dtc. As far as your engine build-up go's I would suggest driving your truck and building an engine outside so when your ready you can drop it in, I've been working on a T444E that I got for free from an International TE bus that never went to Navistar for the core, the injectors were in it too. Everything but the turbo and exhaust manifolds. Good luck man and keep trucking.
