I just saw a bowl assembly on ebay with heater for $40. Looks to be the bowl and heater only.

How difficult would it be (or even possible) to put that in my 97? Could I use any of my existing other parts that he doesnt include or would I need to find newer ones? It was a 99-03 bowl.

THanks!

99-03 is totally different.

94-95 and 96-97 will interchange with each other, but have a different FPR and the restriction sensor is relocated.

JB weld and Kreem tank liner both held up to biodiesel in a mason jar test for over a year in my garage. Main thing is get the bowl super clean first. Possible you could patch a major hole first with some alumaweld or similar braze, or maybe just put a sheet metal screw through it, then the JB Weld.

Well I guess I haven't been draining mine often enough!! Tackled replacing the fuel pump this weekend and found my bowl with some pits. While picking away at them to clean the thing up, my screwdriver went right through. So I was pretty close to having a major leak again. Had to get the whole new assembly because the parts house didn't have just the bowl part. Wasn't cheap but now I have a brand system from pump up. New FPR too with a new screen !! I couldn't believe the junk caked on the old screen.

Also, none of the parts were fun or easy to replace, hope I don't have to do it again for a long time. !!:cussing:

what did that bowl assembly set you back? Tymar told me 309 plus shipping. Sounds good to me but I have no reference point.

I think his price must be for the bowl only. The whole assembly was 652.79 from the dealership. Includes the FPR, wiring harness and a new filter.

My pump was working too but I had a leak that I couldn't pin down and with 175,00+ I thought it was most likely the pump. Once I got into it, I think it may have just been a loose banjo bolt but I was already in to it with a new pump sitting there so I swapped it.
I fully intended on taking pics but I got my hands dirty and completely forgot. I can take some of the finished product if that will show you anything that will help. It's all shinny now !!!
I followed the steps posted on the board on another topic and it really helped me.
Let me know if I can help you out anyway.
