Filling oil filter

If it's a vertical mount filter I always fill em up especially the PSD's

I do because I'm anal like that. But I do not believe it is really a big deal or we would have heard something as long as the 7.3 has been around. Just my .02!

Me too. Prolly no bid deal if you don't but.. The first time I EVER changed oil, My Dad nudged my foot and said: you Pre-charge that filter boy? I said: Yep. waited til he left, crawled back under my 'ol Chevy, took it back off and filled it.

How much should you put in the oil filter?

I put about 1 1/2 qts in it... Not FULL but close... so I can manage it, under the truck, without slobbering oil all over me, the driveway, the pan, the frame or Bob (the Cat)

I also pre-charge the by-pass filter and the fuel filter(s).
