East bound and down: WA to NY to RI to NY to GA Feb-Apr

i'm just wondering why your taking the route that you are?

to stay away from bad cold weather, makes more since tome to go down thru cali and come east on I-20 all the way to atlanta, and then go south on I-75.

maybe im missing something.

I have to go to a school in Newport, RI that starts the 19th and lasts 5 weeks. Wife and kids are going to stay in Western New York with our families during that time. Can't move into the house in GA until March 27(hopefully it will be finished) Trust me, if I was able to go directly to GA I would head South then East. Unfortunately, I don't so it's through the great North I go! The good thing is that the wife and kids are flying so that is one less thing to worry about if we get stuck in the weather.

Headed out now, still not sure if I'll go through SD or ND. I guess I'll play it by ear. Damn it's gonna be cold out there.

Betcha I didn't! I'm in Portage, IN. Calling for a low of -5. No hotels here have plug in! Hopefully the truck will start tomorrow morning. If not, I'll have to fire up the generator on the trailer. So far I have a chipped windshield (Billings, MT) and a fuel leak. Looks like the leak is from the back of the filter housing. Bottom of truck and trailer are now undercoated. The leak must not be too big because we haven't noticed any loss in mileage (10-12) Next thing to do is find the software for it. Didn't really do any indepth troubleshooting due to it being -11 when I found it. I think it is coming from the drain valve assembly and leaking into the valley and down the back of the engine.

if u are coming to st. paul, most (some) hotels have plug ins. will need your own cord. don't know about the wax paper. just don't wash the truck in this cold and u'll be fine. if no cord, just glow plug twice and she'll fire up no problem. mine does. been butt cold here the last week. not plug in.
good luck w/ the road trip!!

I did one door just for you. It is -2 this morning, All doors opened just fine. say: BUSTED! The truck wasn't plugged in and has 15w40 oil in it. It romped a bit and didn't sound happy but she's running. Hope to get to Buffalo today depending on the weather.

scott-
glad to hear that you are mobile for now.

buffalo- you may want to rethink that. if i heard 'correctly' they got 2-3 feet over the weekend of lake effect snow and they are forecasting 12" or more for today!

keep the rubber side down and the sunny side up!
