Few good points of the horrible drought

1. Only used one tank of fuel in the John Deere lawn tractor since march, actually I think most of it evaporated
2. Didn't have to replace the Lawn tractors mower blades
3. No need for an oil change now till December in the JD
4. Fire ants are so deep down that I can walk across the yard barefooted
5. Skeeters? what skeeters


just thought it would be good to see some silver lining in a cloud of dead grass

Very true! You guys have been hit very hard. Here in KS we havnt gotten much rain, havnt had to mow the grass much. Most of it died. The mowers have gotten a good vacation this yr for sure.

My sprinkler system runs twice a week and my yard is just barely staying alive. Looks like it is late November and going dormant.

They must ALL be out here in Caly. Spent last week in the Sierras.. Timber Skeets as big as Flies.. at about Dusk. Drove us Inside.. a coupla nights.

We finally got some well needed rain last night. It wasn't much, 1 1/2 inches, but we'll take all we can get. Of course we got all the added features: thunder, lightning, wind, and hail.
