Pulling around 15k gross against a 20mph wind yesterday my truck was running 204-207 degrees with a 212-214 degree oil temp. I never heard my fan kick on and have never run that hot before. Air temp was high 80's. I have only heard my fan roar 3 times since new and have been in other SD's and their fans cycle alot. When we stopped I checked the fan by turning it and there was some resistance so it must be working some. Is this normal? On the way home with temps in low 80's with tail wind it ran 194 degrees.

My fan clutch kicks on when the oil temp reaches about 210 and/or the engine temp hits about 200 then it will shut off when the oil temp get to about 202

Mine too.

I think something that is maybe often over-looked (?) that is related ECT & EOT and Fan clutch operation issues ?

Keeping the A/C condenser clean and free of bugs'n crap, fins strait.. and back washing the radiator now'n then.

I do mine At Least once a year (Spring).. sometimes twice.. and can't Believe the Crap that washes out.... every time.

Just Gota'be something to that.
