ok guys, i disconneceted ebpv, smoke. disconnected epbs, smoke. ( by the way ebs tube is clear) this is what that mechanic calls egr.this is what he replaced. i disconnected both ebpv and epbs at the same time, smoke. i did not notice any difference in performance. i again took off vacuum line off of map sensor, plugged the line and the smoke went away along with the performance. i hook it back up the smoke reappears. bought a new map sensor but it did nothing for the smoke. you guys have asked if i have a chip. i never put one in. last owner could have put one in. does the chip have a company name on it?

Here in Washington we do a snap test for opacity. You floor it for a couple of seconds or so and let up. I make sure the engine is good and warm and if I have to sit in line I use the high idle so it stays warm. Did I miss which state you're in?
