Factory Synthetic Oil Recommendations?

What does Ford say about switchig to synthetic oil? I have used it in all my engines and have been happy with the results. Some manufactures want to be sure the engine is broken in correctly first. My 6.4 has 8000 miles, 4000 of interstate towing 15000 pound 38 foot RV. This usage in my mind should have provided sufficient break-in. Anyone know what Ford Motor CO would say about this?

Ford has no official position on synthetic oil, that I have heard of. I use Rotella T Syn oil in my 6.0 and I am very happy with the results. Little better mileage, but a more quite engine. It is your truck and you are free to use what ever you want, but it is your responsibility to meet the warranty recommendations as to oil changes, oil type, etc.

as long as the ratings are meet you won't have a warranty issue

I just switched to Ford syn 5w40 and noticed some better mileage and truck seems to start and run smoother.

The guy at the Ford dealer near me told me its new b/c of the new 6.7 but is good for all Ford diesels, Not all dealers are stocking it yet.
