F350 - Side Mirror Running Light

Running light on passenger side mirror has quit. Doesn't appear to be any access points readily available to remove the lense cover. Looking the avoid the trial-and-error approach. How do you change these bulbs in the side mirrors ?

I'll assume your '06 is still under warranty? If so I'd take it into the dealer for them to hash out for I couldn't find anything in the service manual trouble shooting the LED strips.I'm almost betting they might have to replace the whole mirror assembly but not positive.

The "bulbs" are not bulbs at all, they are LED's with should have a life span of around 200,000 hours. The lense will simply pull off towards the front of the truck with a little force, its just a snap togethor setup. I just installed the mirrors on my truck so you can trust me. The lense is all one part with the cover, that cover either being the black wrinkle finish, chrome or painted. Once you get it open there is a connector inside thee that might be loose, or the connector in the door may be lose also.

If the connections are good the dealer will only have to replace the cover to get you going again.


**on edit I can clearly see you have the chrome cover and lense, that's all one peice and should snap off towards the front of the truck.

I'd put money on a bad connection before I would start into the mirror. LEDs should outlast the truck lol...

Thats what I was gettin at, its either the connection in the mirror, or in the door.

you need to quit playing with the DYKES, and let go them strippers and find the shorts
