Between the F350/F450/F550, looking for differences in the suspension systems for these models and other various parts. I know the F350 can be lowered but the same parts can't really apply to a F450/F550 or so I have heard. Just looking for a comparsion. I'll probably still just get an F350 for various reasons including cheap insurance but would like to know more about everything. Anyone know of a site that would talk about the differences?

Your at the place you need to be and welcome to SDD.com

Beefer suspension would be a big diff. from the 350's to the 450/550's

Also bigger rotors and hubs on the 450/550's, axles are also beefer.

bigger tires and wheels, bigger GVWR, you can haul more, etc.

thats about all I can think of right now, and I could be wrong on some of what I said, but I think Im pretty close.

Others will chime in too.

Welcome to the site. Are you looking for a chassis truck or a dually pick-up? Ford doesn't make a 550 pick-up, at least right now only the 450. You can easily make a 550 a pick-up now though. 350's are good for most people. Like Bama said the 450 and 550 have upgraded front and rear suspension. The ride height is also higher with a 450 or 550.

Yea it'll be a dually. I just found out I'd have to notch the frame on the 450/550 due to the axle/suspension not allowing more than a 2" drop. And that would hinder towing so I'll still with the F350.
