Maybe a dumb question, but I don't seem to get enough info off of the Ford website. Still investigating possibilities of getting me one of these awesome trucks. What are the primary differences between these? In comaring the both with the 6.0L diesel all I can really tell is the payload is larger for the F350, so I am assuming its got a beefed up suspension.

What else am I missing? I stopped by a lot yesterday and seen a nice 250 2WD Crew Lariat with a sticker around $49k, and a great looking 2WD Crew F350 Lariat with a sticker of around $46K and some change. Only difference I could tell between them was the 250 had the off road package, also the F350had the chrome package. If suspension is the main difference, is the F350 still a good choice for a daily driver or is it alot stiffer and harder ride than the 250?

Also opinions on waiting for the 2007 models to come out. Think I'll get a better deal on an 06' then? Also, are these trucks considered hot items so theres not much bargaining room, or are dealers having a hard time selling them right now due to fuel prices?

Thanks for the help!

Both of theses trucks can be had with the 4x4 option. That is a matter of preference. The 350 comes with the single rear wheel or dual rear wheel option. The DRW has more towing capacity than the SRW. From a ride standpoint, I have a 350 SRW and it rides good for such a big truck. In years past the difference on a 250 and 350 SRW is that it has 4inch blocks in the back instead of 2inch. Not sure about the newer models.

A couple of friends have traded in for newer F250's and have gotten $10K to $12k off of sticker price.

More knowledgeable folks will chime as the day goes on.

read here
the link takes you to the towing guide for 06
can compare tow ratings and the like, but the 250 and 350 single rear wheel are different with concerns over rated payload, etc. and some 250 srw are rated to tow more than a srw 350 simply because of some configurations,
the big leap is the DRW
you can go with three rear gear sets, and towing up over 18k with a 350 2wd dually

read teh slide in camper pages and tow rating pages carefully then decide based on what you need or need in the future.

there are many 2wd duallies in my neck O the woods jsut a sitting waitng for abuyer so its probaly like that there as well
good huntin
