I am the saddest SOB in Colorado. My beloved 2002 F250 SD was boosted from right in front of my house last Saturday night. Not sure I am ready to commit to another truck just yet. But, I am in the market for a replacement. I pull a 29' 5th wheel trailer in and around the mountains of Colorado. Should I search out another 7.3L, or do you think a newer 6.0L will do the job? Have never driven a 6.0 Liter so I don't know how they pull. Looking for any advice you are willing to share. A little symathy wouldn't hurt either.

Sorry to hear about your wheels, that really sucks. The 6.0L pulls excellent, but it is still a 6.oL
I'm not fond of them at all. Too many problems, head gaskets, injectors, turbos, etc..... Personally, I would look for another 7.3L, just my $.02

Sorry to hear about the truck. This thread might easily get turned into a 7.3 vs 6.0 bonanza. The 6.0's will pull all day long every bit as good as your old 7.3

The 6.0's from 05 and up have better reliability it seems from what I have read here. I have a longtime freind who works in the RV industry and is a retired truck driver to boot. He hauls lots of 5'ers and has nothing bad to say about his 05 - 6.0 F250. And yes, he had a 7.3 before he traded it in and has been a Ford man all 67 years of his life.

Good luck and keep us updated. It sucks to have it stolen ........... been there!

First off, sorry to hear about your truck being stolen. I can only imagine how that must feel.

Second of all, nothing bad to say about my 6.0 and pulling its weight.

I hauled cars with mine on a 2 car trailer and never had any issues
with enough power to pull them. Lots of load with a total GVWR of
over 20,000lbs.

The first 100,000 miles was done bone stock and having to have the EGR
cooler replaced once.

First off Welcome to SSD.com. Just sorry you waited tell your sweet little love of your life truck was stolen before you found us.
Got a picture of it you can post so we can be on the look out for it.
I pull a 16,800 lb 35 foot long fifth wheel with my 6.0 and have nothing but good things to say about it with 33,000 on it so far. There is a 2004 parked next to me here in McAllen and he has 79,000 on it and said it;s never been back to the shop. He is pulling a trailer that's about 12,000 Lb,s

Sucks that your truck was stolen, it does..

Listen to Bama you shall..

6.0 vs 7.3 is a friendly argument around here... now that the 6.4 is reality, we have to include it as well...

Sorry to here about your rig.As far as the 7.3 vs 6.0 debate goes,I say go drive a 6.0 and see what you think.I got an 05 in my van a while yes it was a pig in the beginning with many replaced parts before 15k,It has been great since then.Currently 55k.I would say buy a 05 to 07 if you are looking at the 6 liter. They will be just as good if not better than a 7.3 IMO.Good Luck

sorry for the loss....nothin' wrong w/ the 6.0's
every 7.3 owner i know thats either ridden or driven
in a 6.0 is shocked at the increased power and quiet.

2004+ will serve you very well and are reliable trucks...
2005-2007 have an issue with the HPOP connector (oil line),
get an oasis histor and make sure the repair has been performed
(it would be covered under the 5/100k warranty)

one other thing...when you get your new truck...i dont care
what brand...make sure you take the measures to prevent this
from happening again.

1) alarm (dont cheap out)
2) jimmi jammers
3) other options (switches, relays...cause items 1 & 2 wont stop everyone)
