DO NOT keep your keypad entry code card in your owners manual!

There is a new trend in F-Series thefts. Apparently thieves are breaking into F-150 to 450s and stealing only the registration papers and owners manuals. Later on after you get your car fixed. They use your entry key code to get into your truck and steal it. Or, they break into your truck multiple times without you noticing.

If you have your keypad code card in your owners manual jack sleeve take it out and store it in a safe place.

The owners wallet with door PIN may have been one of the first things to get removed from our Excursion,I can see how it would be trouble if it got into the hands of the wrong person for sure!

I also believe that the factory door code is "hard coded" even if you change the code to a "personal number", the factory code is still active.

From my understanding most dealers charged something like $75 or more to hook up a reader to obtain the code?

You check on the module for the code as I've read rumors in the past there was a label attached with the code:dunno

I know on my old 2000 explorer the code was on the controler box. It was in the drive side rear of the X were they put the jack. The controler was mounted on the wheel well.
