sales rep / friend that i worked w/ had a 35ft fountain w/ twin 502's...
one saturday....we were enjoyin the smooth as glass inner coastal
water way @ 85+ mph when we looked down at the DUAL fuel gauges
and saw we were on FUMES...
throttled back and crawled into the doc @ galveston and started
filling up when the my friend realized he'd MISTAKENLY left his wallet
on the dock
no problem we'll just put it on on my card, i said.......bit over 700 bucks !!
our bill was still lower than the bertram twin diesel that was rolling
pass 1000 dollars on the pump when i went in to get more ice and
sign the fuel ticket !

Bush, I hope you enjoyed the boat ride that day.
i did enjoy that boat....so sweet...motors were never broken in
properly so it had lots of ring blow by (apparently its a very
common thing...cause they get run hard & not broken in, from
day 1 of owner ship)...he was 2nd owner...and we discovered
this (in the middle of the gulf) when one of the engines alarmed
from over temp (low oil) !
no biggie....he payed me back for the fuel....guy makes a 1M+
per year ....800 bucks for fuel was a drop in the bucket to him...
specially when you own a 80k dollar boat.
that boat was compfortable at 60mph...gotta a little rough (and
dicey) at 90

Makes me want my BAJA back. Have to build a new garage so store my toys when I hopefully buy another one.
