I need help, i have a f-350 2003 6.0 powerstroke super dually..check gauge lite is on and oil pressure gauge shows low when vehicle is started..when accelerated lite goes off and oli pressure gauge shows working correct..mechanics trying to found where possible leak is in system, they have motor apart as of now...i had similar problem 5 months ago with vehicle turning over but not starting..they finally accessed it to oil pressure pump and a sensor vehicle was down 3 months...i have 165,000 miles on vehicle i am a carhauler,use vehicle to pull a 53ft gooseneck trailer haul 3 to 4 vehicles..can u help with what problem may be....thxs...ebj

The factory oil pressure gage is a joke, its only a pressure switch it switches on at 5 psi. All i can guess is a faulty switch or oil pump gone
I agree... Oil gauge is a bad joke, should just be a pass fail light... My guess would be the oil pump as well. If you already lost the HP pump for the injectors, I woudn't be surprised if there was significant wear on the main pump.

Did they put a real gage in to see what it really is? theres a test port for them it shows it in the 6.0L bible
