Alternator, zoom belt, grounding strap, and 2 new batteries on Wednesday...4 new rear sneakers on Friday...oil change on Saturday...all topped off with a nice turbo fart saturday evening going up a long grade with about 14k dragging behind me that blew the top hose right off. When I lost most of the power and saw black smoke billowing out, I figured thats it, game over. When I opened the hood I could not believe that it was just a matter of putting the hose back on and tightening it up. The noise it made when it blew was deafening. 3 minutes with a screwdriver and it was all good again. In hindsight, the original alternator went almost 200k, the belt [second replacement] was at 70k, and the batteries were the originals. None of those parts owe me a dime. I just wish my wife would age as well as this truck.
