Gut it or remove it? Much easier to remove it so you can put it back on in the future if needed...

Yeah I agree.. I wasn't really meaning gut it.. but I realize now that is exactly what it sounds like.. yeah you definitely DO NOT want to gut it because there might be a day you need to put her back on there... sorry for the confusion..

thanks for pointing that out kenholl... I know some guys that gutted theirs a few years ago before the EPA was all over us.. they are regretting doing so now..

I have an '04 6.0 and it is bone stock. Going to start with running straight exhaust from the turbo with no cat/muffler. What do you guys suggest getting? Thanks

I have a Banks 4" stainless steel exhaust which I installed myself. It has a one piece down pipe from the turbo. It was very easy to install. No cat. No muffler. Straight pipe. Sounds good. I have a 06 Ford Extended cab 6.0

I'm running the 4" MBRP "off road" turbo back system. Sounded pretty nice but after moving out of town to the sticks, I decided I wanted more noise out of it so I pulled out the muffler and swapped in the muffler delete pipe in it's place.......now it sounds nice:evil

I have the 4" MBRP turbo back w/ muffler delete.....the down pipe for my kit was one piece.
It took me a little over 3 hours to do the whole job in my driveway by myself....very easy install and I love the way it sounds.
Another note....I kept the kitty for 2 reasons the first is I was told by a tech that the turbo needs back pressure in order for the vanes to work properly and the other is it's a $10,000 fine for removing any emmision controls on a vehicle.
