Why pay for the cat delete pipe when you can just hollow out the cat you get with the kit?

If you simply add a hollowed out cat you create turbulence in the cat chamber which will impede the proper flow of exhaust gases. I gutted the kitty, cut two 4" holes in both sides of the cat and welded a 4" straight-thru pipe in. But that's only because I live in the USSNJ.

I also seen a 5" pipe welded thru a gutted cat :sweet :sweet :sweet

Helps keep those exhaust gasses moving:thumbs

I just put down 428 RWHP with my gutted cat. That's plenty for me.

WHEW - great number for a Ferd - for just gutting the cat especially :) :) :)

in all seriousness, though....
Did you post that you have a 7.3 or 6.0 - maybe I missed it...

My question is did you measure how many HP difference with or without the cat ?

I'm really curious... my thought is that it is a minimal if any gain, but would like to be proven wrong :)

It's a 6.0 2004. It has Airaid intake and Doug Tune and gutted cat that's it.
