there's a federal law called magnusson moss, they CANNOT void your warranty unless they can PROVE that the modified part DIRECTLY caused the failure

That might be the case. But there is an enforcability issue. If a person finds that his warranty claim has been unjustly denied, who does he report it to? The police? Yea right!! :roflmao

The only recourse a person has is to hire a lawyer and take the manufacturer to court. The manufacturers have an army of lawyers who's job is to tie up Magnuson Moss suits in the courts as long as possible and make them as expensive as possible for the plaintiff. That is why a it costs $10,000+ in legal fees to get the manufacturer to honor a $3,000 transmission warranty repair.

That is why Magnuson-Moss is useless and always will be.

a service manager or dealership...his comments are
unrealistic and laughable.

Question on your exhaust

bushpilot said:
I've had a turbo back MBRP on mine since about 22k miles...been in
for 2 warrenty repairs (one egr related) and no one said a word...big
5" stainless tip and all.

I own a 2001 4x4 7.3. I was wondering how much your exhaust was and brand, how much more performance you have and are you happy with it?

our new dealer in quitman,
my experience with them last week was odd.
they have no psds on the lot, and a very small inventory, 3 techs and one service writer/parts guy
he went over my truck top to bottom when i asked him to re-look at the seats that are unsewing.
he looked under the hood and even under the rear of the truck. I geuss he never saw a tow boss up close :dunno , did want to know why i had an exhuast temp guage???
i didnt get a warm fuzzy so we now are looking at a dealer a few towns over.

its coming down to dealers getting nervous and looking to protect thier $$$ if ford says NOPE on a warranty repair, to me the 3/36 bumper to bumper is just that and everything but tires and brakes should be a "no problem" getting thungs repaired under it.

no i totally understand what you are saying bro. just because that's the technical way of it does not mean you wont have to pull teeth to get warranty work done. sad but true.
and i've dealt with many service managers over the years for different vehicles.
i wasnt trying to come off as a know it all sorry if that's how it seemed
