exhaust from heater vents

Hi.....I own a 2005 F350 6.0. Mt truck has been running rich and the exhaust smell is coming when the heater is cranked up.The truck has no mods to the motor.Has any other member had this happen or an awnser to why this is happening? Thanks

I had that problem back when my 05 was a couple months old. Does your truck mainly smell when sitting still, or all the time? Mine was only sitting still. It was a cracked Y-pipe going to the turbo. It was letting the exhaust into the cab. If you still have Warranty left, should be an easy fix for your dealer.

i would have to agree, its probably an exhaust leak under the hood.

I pulled it in the garage last night and found that the y-pipe is cracked.....I purchased the extended 100k mile warranty from Ford...Would this be covered?

your best bet would be to hop on the phone with the dealer. if i had to guess i would say yes.
