Do you guys think that the advantage of the ability to assist in braking outweighs the benefits of removing it entirely? I have read pros and cons both ways. I have trailer brakes which help out a lot so I really don't absolutely need the assistance I just thought it would be nice. If things will improve airflow-wise I will just gut it.
I would vote YES.
Because it's switch controlled now, It's like it's not there. Or, if I want it for what it's intended for, like Warm-up, Stay warm.. it's there. But using the EBPV to hold me back, going down hills with the 5r on, is Great. I even use it when Empty. And.... I'm not so sure "Gut'n" the EBPV gains us that much... Performance wize.
Don't wana start anything here but.. I don't think an "in the exhaust" type brake is good for these 444s. Valve train, Turbo issues.. long term. Whadya say?
On Edit ? 26* here this AM. Used this little re-worked EBPV feature.. fired'em up, High idle came up, flipped the switch, let'em warm up, flipped the switch off'n went 'bout my bidness.. with no bog'n or howl'n. Life is Good.
