Engine warm up time

I know it's not that cold but the reason I do it is because of my powdered metal rods. Anything below 150 degrees F of EOT puts fuel and timing in the "cold" tables. That advances timing and I don't want to risk a windowed block since I seem to have a heavy foot.:D

Never plug mine in Houston

I do Plug it in Colorado when it is there in the Winter 10 below the last time there. Powerboater a Devo Memorial got to love that

Is this normal for these engines to take a while to warm up?
Not sure on the 6.0 but my 7.3 is hot after just a few miles depending on how cold it is. 50F is not cold enough to slow it down. I think you have a problem. I think I'm up to temp in less than 5 miles when it is 0 degrees F.
