Try a diesel fuel additive that lubricates the injectors before throwing parts at it.

2-cycle motor oil, Stanadyne......even bio-diesel will make the engine quiter.

I had a '99 f250 w/ a ticking noise and started using Lucas injector cleaner. After a while it started to go away until it drowned in 10' of water.

You might wana consider The HPX line install. It's a High pressure oil line that goes across, between the Heads/oil rails, equalizing the oil pressure that "Pops" yer injectors.

I have the same noise on my 2001 that has only 55,000 miles on it. B20 seemed to quite things down a lot but we can no longer get it around here. I use Power Service Diesel Kleen and it helps a little. Dont you just love this ULSD fuel. If you find out it is anything other than fuel please post it. I was a little concerned when I first noticed it because the original owner used a K&N drop in filter from 5K miles until when I bought the truck at 41K and it was leaking some dirt by the filter.

Many of us are using the 2 cycle oil from Wally World with good results :dunno 16 oz to 16 gallons. (Blue bottle, with TCW3 in it)

Puts a little lubrisity back into the ULSC # 2.
