Me and my uncle were talking today and he said that the duramax has a slight bit more torque than the powerstroke (2011). And I just mentioned I'd like to compare the dyno numbers. He said that those were the dyno numbers. I tried for about 2 seconds to tell him that those were engine numbers straight from the crank shaft. I dont see them throwing out one set of numbers for every truck that has different gear ratios and other differences in the drivetrain. Am I wrong?:dunno

What you read is what Ford sells. If you want accurate numbers, dyno your own truck and then you will know for sure. I don't REALLY KNOW how Ford determines those numbers, but it is not off a dyno straight to the book. They are massaged by Marketing, you can bet on it.

Chev didn't put out any numbers tell about a week after Ford put there numbers out and Chev diesel had 5 or 7 more HP then what Ford said there's was.
I will keep my Ford and keep eatting Chevs loaded or unloaded.

ford gives HP TQ at the fly wheel...depending on the gears in the trans and rear end you will loose about 20% of the HP and TQ though the running gear..
