Engine hours

14K @ 380hrs here.

Anyone considered changing oil based on engine hours instead of miles. I was thinking about changing every 150 hours.

Just thought of something else. I don't know if this is possible but can odometers still be disconnected? maybe you don't have 15K at all. Also, was it used as a plow last winter? where are you?

Most use 100 hours. That is about equal to 5,000 miles at 50 mph.

How is the hours against idle / mileage calculated?

Wouldn't the hours be higher with low mileage for a truck driven in heavy traffic often as opposed to driven in the middle of nowhere where there is little traffic?

YMMV on the hours verses miles. The standard is 5000 miles = 100 hours.
