CAN'T STAY OFF THE PEDAL

YES I HAVE BEEN TROTTING AROUND A BIT! I HAVE A 7 MILE DRIVE TO WORK AND 5 OF IT IS PRETTY OPEN AS EVERYONE ELSE IS GOING THE OTHER DIRECTION. THERE SEEMED TO NEVER BE COPS AROUND BUT THE I DID GET CAUGHT ONE TIME DOING 90. I HAD JUST STARTED MOVING AND STILL HAD A LONG WAY TO GO BUT I WAS WATCHING MY BOOST GUAGE. THE SES LIGHT GOES OFF WHEN I ROMP ON IT AND YES I BELIEVE IT IS BECAUSE OF THE BOOST. IT PUSHES ALMOST TO 30LBS OF BOOST. TODAY I RECEIVED A PACKAGE FROM MY INTERNET SHOPPING THE OTHER NIGHT WHICH CONTAINED A MAP BOOST PRESSURE VALVE FROM 'DIESELSITE.COM' IT ALSO HAD AN AIH DELETE. YES I SPENT MORE THAN 5.00 FOR IT BUT I DIDN'T HAVE TO HUNT FOR IT AND THE CLOSEST AUTO STORE BESIDES A-LINE IS 20-25 MILES AWAY. WHAT IS CEL. I MUST HAVE A BRAIN FART BECAUSE I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT IS IF I EVEN EVER KNEW. THANKS FOR THE REPLY. DO YOU HAVE A LISTING OF THE CODES? NOW ITS TIME FOR A TRANNY. I'VE SEARCHED ALOT AND I KNOW I CAN'T AFFORD WHAT I WANT.:D

CEL > Check Engine light

Please take the caps lock off when typing in the forums, its so much easier to read with it off.

You can find all the diagnostic codes you want by clicking on> technical articles WIKI> the button is on the top right corner of this page.

thanks bryan
i am still asleep

30 lbs of boost, yep you were testing the limits of the factory turbo, i am surprised it is pulling that without some issues, like stalling or surge
I used to get surge at 27-28 right before the infamous cel and the better yet "defuel"

the map bleed off will help, but my opinion is in ,inline with yep its an inexpensive short term fix.
you need to look at a wicked wheel and a few other items.
darn I miss my 7.3

Cel Light

I thought it was called an SES light(service engine soon). Well I guess you learn something everyday. I want my own OBD reader so I can keep tabs on the system. Where in TX were you born powerboatr? I have a jet boat for sale with a 460cid bored .040 over and a whole lot inside. the jet locked up and it sat for the last three years in the open and the seats rotted at the bottom. I need to sell it to get my new tranny I guess. type to ya later!-popcorn
