EGR Valve

So i get a check engine light and i pull code P0401(exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient) so it this just telling me the Valve may be bad or dirty or is it something else because of the insufficient flow? I did give it a good cleaning about 5 months ago or 2500 miles ago. Ohh it's a 03 6.0.

possible could be the egr is bad and not is opening up....

when you had the valve out did you clean down in the area where the egr sits. there are ports there that could plug up, resulting in insufficient flow...hope this helps

No i didnt even think of cleaning the ports, i'll give it a try and see what happens, thanks for your help
