Dfuser has a EGR Billet blockoff for 79.99. Has anyone used this or would recommend it? I am planning on new head bolts within the next year or so. Then i'll go a delete...... What are the thoughts of just replacing the EGR for now with the blockoff? Thanks:dunno

By removing the EGR valve and using the blocker the hot exhaust gases will heat up the EGR cooler beyond the design limits. This isn't what you really want to do you want to block the exhaust flow at the EGR up-pipe that connects to the EGR cooler. The heated exhaust will not enter the cooler and flow directly to the turbo.

So what you're saying is that the guys who just unplug the EGR could have the same problem? I was trying to trace the three chambers that the egr valve connects when it's opened? ???????? TOP? MIDDLE? BOTTOM?

Has anyone installed the EGR up-pipe? How difficult was it. I'm a pretty good mechanic, but this is only my second diesel truck, so I always ask alot of questions before doing anything. I don't need an expensive lawn ornament.

I modded my own EGR up-pipe. If you got skinny long arms it's not too bad. Otherwise grab all the 1/4" drive extentions you got, remove the passenger tire and wheel well liner to help get access to the up-pipe mount bolts. There are some tight spots but it's worth the effort to get the mod done.
